“There’s no passion to be found playing small
— in settling for a life that is less
than you are capable of living.”
~Nelson Mandela

Today I want to talk about the reality of life. I know that is a hard subject to swallow early in the morning so if you need to read this late in the day that is fine too but I really hope you read every word and understand deeply within yourself what I’m saying. The reality is, unless you get up, get dressed, put on your happy face, and get busy doing the WORK of living life, you are never going to be fulfilled and happy.

“Opportunities will come and go, but if you do nothing about them, so will you.”
― Richie NortonThe Power of Starting Something Stupid: How to Crush Fear, Make Dreams Happen, and Live without Regret

I am going to say something that is exactly the opposite of what all the modern gurus are saying to you. I know deeply, in my very essence that I am right and they are wrong–all of them. You do not have to find your purpose in being on this earth; it has already found you. It is up to you to live your life; to do the work of being who you are.

All you have to do is get up everyday
ready to do everything your life
has to offer with lust and joy!

You do not have to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars over and over and over again taking course after course that PROMISES YOU that by the end of the course you will have discovered your life’s purpose and passion. I’m not saying these courses aren’t good and don’t have a lot to offer you and me.  They mostly are, in fact, wonderful and I highly recommend many of them. BUT. I am saying you can take every course that comes across your path and go bankrupt and never find your passion or your purpose EVEN if you do the exercises they suggest.

“The mind’s health depends on what it feeds on. Avoid thoughts and conversations that kill your soul.”
― Bangambiki HabyarimanaThe Great Pearl of Wisdom

OK. So you don’t know what your life’s purpose or passion is.  Don’t worry. Your life’s purpose and passion knows what to do.  All you have to do is live.  Live and work each day with what is in front of you. Do work you can be proud of and happy doing. If you love being a person who stays home and takes care of your children and yard and home, then do that. If you love being a person who works writing poems and essays, then do that. If you love being a person who works like a fiend to be the best in your field, then do that. If you love being a person who sings, dances, frolics, then do that.

“Your passion and purpose will live through you, whether you are aware of them or not.”
–Glenda Clemens, Transformative Life Coach

So please. Please! Be kind and loving and gentle with yourself. You are exactly who you are supposed to be, living in the time you have been given to do exactly what you are doing. If you must seek, then seek to be kind, seek to be gentle, seek to build others up, seek to be loving, seek to create beauty, seek to love. Before you know it you will have fulfilled your purpose and passion EVEN if you do not know what it is. That’s how the Universe rolls!

BUT don’t take my word for it.
